How do I support my student without overstepping?

• Offer guidance, not control. Let the student explore and grow, but check in often.
• Respect cultural differences. Don’t assume your way is the only right way.
• Be a safe presence. Listen without judgment and allow space for independence.

When in doubt, ask: “Would I want this if I were far from home?” That mindset goes a long way.
