Host Stipend Payment Schedule

At StudentRoomStay, we are committed to providing our hosts with clear and timely payments. Below is an overview of our stipend payment schedule and key details to help you understand when and how you’ll be paid.

Weekly Payment Schedule

Host stipends are processed on a weekly basis.

• The hosting week runs from Friday night through Friday morning (i.e., 7 nights maximum).

Your First Payout (Prorated to Friday):

• Your first payout only covers the days from your student’s arrival day through the first Friday.
• This amount is prorated (not a full week) and has any background check fees deducted.
• That payout is released on the second Tuesday after that first Friday.

Example Timelines:

• Move-in: Tuesday, Sept 2

• Prorated period: Tuesday, Sept 2 → Friday, Sept 5

• First payout released: Tuesday, Sept 16

  (Prorated amount, minus background check fees)

• Next hosting period: Friday, Sept 5 → Friday, Sept 12

• Second payout released: Tuesday, Sept 23

  (Full weekly stipend)

Second Payout and Ongoing Payouts

• Please note that the second payout and any ongoing payouts may not be a full week stipend if your student moves out earlier than expected. In that case, the stipend may be prorated.

Payment Delivery

• Payments are typically sent via direct deposit by end of day Tuesday.
  • Actual processing time is dependent on your bank.
  • Depending on your bank, funds may take a few business days to appear.
• If a holiday or bank delay occurs, the payment will arrive slightly later.

Tax Reporting

StudentRoomStay will issue a Form 1099-NEC each January for hosts who meet the IRS reporting threshold.
