Host Onboarding & Inspection: Step-by-Step Guide
Welcome to StudentRoomStay! Weโre excited youโre here. This guide walks you through everything required to complete your host onboarding and become eligible to host a student.

This guide explains the steps required to complete the host onboarding and inspection process. These steps ensure all hosts are prepared, qualified, and supported before welcoming a student into their home.
โ Your Required Onboarding Tasks
To be fully onboarded and eligible for placement, hosts must complete the following:

1. ๐ Complete Your Home Inspection
Option 1 โ Self-Guided (Preferred):
Use your mobile device to complete this 10โ15 minute form. Youโll upload photos of your home and a short video walkthrough.

Option 2 โ Zoom Call:
If youโre unable to complete the mobile form, you may schedule a 15-minute Zoom inspection instead.
What Weโre Looking For:
- Photos of guest bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and shared areas
- A clean and safe environment
- A fully furnished bedroom with:
- Bed with pillow, bedding, and comforter
- Dresser or storage
- Closet or hanging space
- Desk (required for placements longer than 30 days)
If anything is missing, let us know your plan to have it ready before your student arrives.
2. ๐ Book Your Onboarding Call (Required)
This 15-minute call helps us:
- Confirm your onboarding progress
- Answer questions and set expectations
- Verify youโve completed all required tasks

Log into your AMP dashboard and follow the steps to complete training.

All adults 18+ in the household must submit a background check through our trusted partner, Sterling Volunteers.
